Katie is an experienced teacher having worked in multiple schools throughout her career, teaching EYFS through to Year 6.  She has a history and politics based degree, and a real flair for bringing the Humanities alive for children.  Having worked as an SLE for many years, she has a passion for supporting subject leaders to drive change and accelerate achievement within their subject areas, enabling them to identify the priorities of development needed within their curriculum and implement these with accountability and structure.  She shows an infectious enthusiasm for improving the teaching of History and Geography, with an ability to empower subject leaders with the skills and focus needed to drive change.

Purpose

The History and Geography Hub, here at Cheshire Academies Trust, is an exciting and innovative place where Subject Leaders can access support and enhance their curriculum within their own school, through rigorous and systematic collaboration.  We hold regular meetings for subject leaders, ensuring a platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange.  It is also a place where subject leaders can access training videos to enhance their practise, including the latest insights and methodologies.
If needed, schools can access the Hub lead to provide school improvement support within their particular setting via School Improvement Director Kate Doyle.

At the centre of what we aim to do together is to ensure that every school within our Trust provides the highest quality History and Geography curriculum and teaching possible.  Through our culture of Care, Collaboration and Creativity, along with a steadfast focus on providing high-quality and inclusive education, the vision of our History and Geography Hub is to provide the highest quality professional development, inspiring teachers and support staff to ensure children receive the best possible education.
